Reaching the farmhouse "Il Traspo" in Vellano is easy, both by expressway, as by airplane.  Who comes from the A12 has to turn into the A11 and take the exit Montecatini Terme and then follow the indications towards Pescia and Vellano.   Also Pisa and Florence's airports offer  public transport facilities or taxi-services to reach our region.    "Il Traspo" has an optimal position: both  the sea-side and the mountains are not that far away.  Moreover you can reach cities like Florence, Pisa and Lucca in less than an hour.  But also Pescia is interesting to visit:  history and culture, museums or theatres.    During the first week of may Pescia bathes in a medieval atmosphere.  In the small townstreets one is reminded of medieval  arts and professions.  During the first week of september, we have the "Palio" at Pescia: bow-shooting contests and historical parades.  Collodi, at 8 km distance from Pescia, is "Pinocchio's" homeland.
